Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data Teen Patti Magic collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).
1. Who we are
For the purposes of the DPDPA, the Data Fiduciary is Teen Patti Magic — the operator of the Teen Patti Magic real-cash gaming Android application and the website at teenpattimagic.com. Contact details are at the bottom of this policy.
2. What data we collect
- Account data — mobile number (for OTP signup), display name, and any optional profile fields you complete.
- Identity / KYC data — collected only when triggered by withdrawal thresholds: PAN number, Aadhaar (last four digits), bank account or UPI handle, and proof-of-identity uploads.
- Gameplay data — game rounds played, stake amounts, wins, losses, table-session timestamps. Stored to provide gameplay history, support TDS reporting and detect collusion or unfair-play patterns.
- Device + technical data — Android version, app version, anonymised IP address, crash logs.
- Payment data — UPI handle, bank account (masked), payment processor transaction IDs. Card numbers are never stored — they live only with the payment processor.
- Support data — emails, in-app chat transcripts when you contact support.
- Cookies / analytics — on the website only: session cookies, Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. The Android app does not use third-party cookies.
3. Why we collect it (lawful purposes)
- To operate the gaming platform — match you to tables, process bets, settle wins.
- To comply with Indian gaming regulations and the Income Tax Act, 1961 (specifically Section 194BA TDS auto-withholding).
- To process deposits and withdrawals via UPI / IMPS / card rails.
- To detect fraud, collusion and unfair-play patterns. Verified violations may result in account restrictions.
- To respond to support and grievance requests.
- To improve the platform — aggregated, de-identified analytics only.
4. Who we share it with
- Payment processors — UPI rail providers, banks, NPCI for transaction settlement.
- Identity verification providers — when KYC is triggered, regulated third-party verifiers handle Aadhaar and PAN checks.
- Government authorities — Income Tax Department for TDS reporting; law-enforcement agencies on valid legal request.
- Hosting / infrastructure providers — cloud providers hosting the platform infrastructure.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation on the website only.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks for cross-site profiling.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data: for the active life of your account plus 5 years after closure (Income Tax Act record-keeping minimum).
- KYC documents: 5 years from collection per anti-money-laundering norms.
- Gameplay records: 5 years from the round date for TDS reconciliation.
- Support records: 2 years from the resolution date.
- Anonymised analytics: indefinite, but cannot be linked back to your identity.
6. Your rights under DPDPA 2023
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or outdated data.
- Erasure — request deletion subject to legal retention obligations (Income Tax, AML).
- Grievance — escalate complaints to our grievance officer (below) within 30 days.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for processing where the lawful basis was consent. Some processing is required by law and cannot be withdrawn.
- Nominee — appoint a nominee to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
7. Security
We use TLS 1.2+ for all data in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields (KYC, payment), and access controls limiting which staff can view personal data. We are not certified to any specific information-security standard at this time; customer-facing security claims will be updated as certifications are obtained.
8. Children
Teen Patti Magic is for users aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us at [email protected] and the account will be closed.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as law and platform features change. Material changes will be notified via the app and via this page. The "effective" date at the top reflects the most recent update.
