Play within limits

Responsible gaming at Teen Patti Magic

Real-money gaming should stay fun. Below are the tools we ship with the app, the warning signs to watch for, and the free helplines available across India if play stops being fun.

In-app tools

Open Settings → Responsible Gaming inside the app to access these. All settings take effect immediately:

  • Daily deposit limit — caps how much you can deposit in any 24-hour window. Lowering the limit is instant; raising it takes 24 hours to apply (a built-in cool-down).
  • Weekly deposit limit — same as daily, but for a rolling 7-day window.
  • Monthly deposit limit — rolling 30 days.
  • Session timer — interrupts play with a wellness check after a chosen session length (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes).
  • Loss limit — auto-stops play once net losses in the chosen window exceed the cap.
  • Self-exclusion (cooling-off) — locks your account for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or permanently. Cooling-off cannot be reversed before its end date once activated.
  • Reality check pop-ups — shows your session stake total at chosen intervals.

Warning signs to watch for

Real-money gaming becomes harmful for a small minority of players. The warning signs include:

  • Playing for longer than planned, or returning to play immediately after deciding to stop.
  • Spending money on the platform that was earmarked for essentials (rent, bills, food).
  • Hiding play sessions or stake amounts from family or partners.
  • Chasing losses by increasing stakes after a losing session.
  • Borrowing money to fund deposits.
  • Feeling anxious or depressed when not playing, or thinking about playing during work hours.
  • Lying about how much time or money is being spent on the platform.

Any one of these in isolation doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. Multiple signs together — especially the financial-stress and concealment signs — are reasons to step back and consider self-exclusion or a confidential conversation with one of the helplines below.

Free helplines and resources

All the resources below are free, confidential, and run by recognised Indian and global organisations:

  • iCall (TISS) — Tata Institute of Social Sciences psychosocial helpline. Confidential email and phone counselling, multiple Indian languages, including for problem gaming and financial stress.
  • NIMHANS — National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru. Runs the SHUT clinic (Service for Healthy Use of Technology) specifically focused on gaming-related concerns: SHUT Clinic NIMHANS.
  • WHO — Gaming Disorder fact sheet — the World Health Organization's overview of gaming disorder as classified in ICD-11, including signs, definitions, and where to seek help globally.
  • Vandrevala Foundation Helpline — 1860-2662-345 (24×7, free, multiple Indian languages, including problem gaming and financial stress).

Money you can afford to lose

The healthiest framing for real-money gaming is to treat the stake as the cost of entertainment. The amount you stake on Teen Patti Magic in a session should be money you would otherwise spend on a comparable leisure activity — a meal out, a movie ticket, a streaming subscription. If you wouldn't comfortably spend ₹500 on a Friday-night cinema trip, you shouldn't be comfortable losing ₹500 on a card-table session either. The reverse applies upwards: if ₹2,000 is your normal entertainment budget for a weekend, that's the upper bound for stake exposure in a single session.

What healthy gaming is not: a way to make money, a way to recover money already lost, or a way to escape stress unrelated to the game. The platform pays out wins, but the long-run statistical expectation across any specific game is below break-even (every table carries a small house edge). Treating gaming as a side income, even informally, is the first warning sign on the list above.

Restrictions on minors and at-risk users

Teen Patti Magic is for users aged 18 and over only. Real-money gaming under 18 is prohibited in Indian law. If you believe a minor has registered an account, please email [email protected] and the account will be closed.

We additionally restrict play in seven Indian states (Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana) based on state-specific gaming statutes. See terms for the full restriction list.

Self-exclusion

If you want to step away from real-money gaming entirely, the self-exclusion tool inside the app locks your account permanently. Once activated, the exclusion cannot be reversed before its term ends (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days) — and the "permanent" option, by design, has no reversal at all. You'll continue to receive only essential account-related emails; promotional emails are stopped immediately.

Self-exclusion is the single most effective control we offer. If you're considering it, we strongly recommend pairing it with a conversation with one of the helplines above — they're free, confidential, and trained in this specific concern.
